Our Opinion:
We weren’t expecting this to be a great film but hoped it would surprise us. It didn’t. It remains to be the same tired old story that we saw in the first two movies however progressively worse and boring. It was a very quiet movie and I had nodded off a couple of times. Many scenes were too dark. Just not interesting at all. Save your time on this one.

Rated PG-13, 99 min., 2009
Our Opinion:
True horror fans will appreciate this movie because Sam Raimi goes back to his roots with horror mixed with slap-stick comedy. Yes a bit weird but entertaining just the same for those of you who don’t know what we are talking about. This is a very well polished film worth watching a few times. Excellent character development and great writing really take you away with an added dose of special effects. I hope Sam does more of these. See the trailer…

Soon, Megan feels Sophie’s presence, and as the friends try to conjure up her spirit, the horror begins. Shawn Ashmore, Tyler Hoechlin, Amanda Seyfried, Matt O’Leary and Hilarie Burton also star in this thriller directed by Daniel Myrick (The Blair Witch Project).
Rated PG-13, 1 hr. 30 min., 2007
Our Opinion:
There is nothing like a good old young lovers in love, especially if one of them just had sex with their dead sister’s boyfriend. We spend the whole movie trying to figure out what happened when Megan’s sister died. It’s a little slow but still had good entertainment value. Production was top notch. This is not a cheapo low budget film. Great sound track!

Rated R, 1 hr. 42 min., 2009
Our Opinion:
This is a great ghost story with a supurb back story. I could see a prequel being made for this. The characters were OK but they do not reach the level of say Stir of Echos. Worth watching a second time. The DVD has a lot of extra material about this particular story and its associated crack pots.

Our Opinion:
Don’t waste your time with this one. It was meant for television. I admit I was curious about this movie only because of the title and the cover art. Don’t be fooled. This is movie making at its cheapest.

This is a fun movie. For low budget it was entertaining. The character Norma carried the film from start to finish. There is some light humor mixed in with gore.
Stephen King’s Desperation

When a group of strangers corss paths in the small town of Desperation, Nev., they find themselves at the mercy of psychotic Sheriff COllie Entragian (Ron Perlman), who’s possessed by spirits. Annabeth Gish (Mystic Pizza), Tom Skerritt (Picket Fences), Steven Weber (Wings) and Kelly Overton (The Ring Two) co-star in this made-for-television horror flick based on the book by Stephen King, who also penned the teleplay.
Rated R, 2hrs. 11min., 2006
Our Opinion
Not bad, typical Stephen King fashion. The beginning was great and held out attention especially with ROn Pearlman who did a great job as the evil possessed Sheriff. However, the film gets long and boring towards the end. The movie runs out of gas at the end with very weird cheap effects. Perhaps they should have cut it short to save grace.
